5 Things We Love About The Volkswagen Transporter WAV

When it comes to wheelchair accessible vehicles, the Volkswagen Transporter is one of the best in its class.

Volkswagen has “met expectations again and created a vehicle with a stylish and contemporary exterior that's designed to make a statement and an interior that's packed full of innovations and modern-day technology."

Here are 5 things that we love about the Wheelchair Accessible Volkswagen Transporter.

1. Room for everyone

The Transporter can accommodate up to seven seated passengers (including the driver) and one wheelchair user, or up to nine seated passengers when the wheelchair user is not travelling. There are also multiple seating configurations, including detachable seats and ISOFix points, making it an adaptable vehicle for your lifestyle. As all of the seats are full-sized, each of the passengers is guaranteed a comfortable journey.

A long-wheelbase version is also available, allowing more space for a second wheelchair to be accommodated.

2. The choice is yours

Wheelchair access into the Volkswagen Transporter is via a remote-operated electric lift at the rear of the vehicle. This makes deployment easy and hassle-free, especially if you find deploying a manual ramp more difficult. However, this can be changed to a manual ramp if that is more suited to you.

3. Great technology

The Transporter features great technology as standard and plenty of optional extras for you to tailor your WAV to your preference. As standard, the Volkswagen Transporter comes with Bluetooth for ease of making calls and listening to music, DAB Digital Radio to easily scan for your favourite channels, and USB connectivity for your phone or tablet, keeping you connected or fully charged on every journey. Optional features include Air Conditioning, a 12V socket to the rear and Parking Sensors for ease of manoeuvring.

4. Great storage

There are also plenty of extra storage facilities within the Transporter WAV, with a storage box as standard for restraints when the wheelchair user is not travelling. In the cab, you’ll also find both upper and lower storage compartments in each of the doors, as well as two additional shelves above the glove compartment for things you need handy.

5. Adds style to your life

The overall design of the Volkswagen Transporter is stylish and sleek. There’s an exceptional choice of colours to choose from, as well as versatile interior trims and wheels so you have full control over how you want your Volkswagen Transporter WAV to look.

Whether you like taking trips to the beach, to the shops or to the countryside, our Wheelchair Accessible Volkswagen Transporter will make sure you get there safely and comfortably.
